Skin.Lite films offer several advantages, such as the enviromental impact reduction, the costs contraction and the decrease in weight and volume of each packed product, all this with the guarantee of maximum resistance and load stability.
Our R&D team has been assigned to a specific task: to increase the technical and mechanical efficiency of industrial packaging products to ensure maximum operational efficiency and cost savings at all times, regardless of polyethylene market price trends.
These special benefits allowed us to add even more value: maintaining a production policy geared to sustainability, with reduced packaging consumption and a significant reduction of waste.
- Reduced packaging costs
- Optimised production cycle
- Protection during transport and storage
- Environmental sustainability
- to create products that generate value for their users
- to be an active partner for our customers, even in terms of advice
- to protect our customers’ assets
- to offer innovative packaging solutions which can reduce environmental impact
- to provide pre- and after- sales services

EXCELLENT MECHANICAL PROPERTIES
The Skin.Lite range fully expresses the spirit with which we operate at Plastotecnica: an ongoing commitment to research to enhance our products by adding high technical content. In this case, although film thickness has been reduced by up to 70%, the product’s mechanical performance is maintained or even increased.
THICKNESS REDUCED BY UP TO 70%
The thickness of Skin.Lite products has been reduced down to 6 my, for different types of applications.
While decreasing the amount of material used, such reduction does not affect in any way the integrity and stability of the products to be packaged.
Although their weight is reduced by up to 65% compared to standard cores, the cores used in Skin.Lite products provide the same technical performance in terms of resistance to crushing. Again a double advantage, with an increased film reel length and lower disposal costs.
INCREASED REEL LENGTH
A reduced film thickness and the use of lightweight cores allow us to obtain significantly longer reels.
Weight for weight, Skin.Lite products provide a much higher yield.
REDUCED REEL CHANGE TIME
Number of reel changes Standard stretch film Skin.Lite stretch film With their longer reels, Skin.Lite products drastically reduce the number of reel changes, thereby decreasing downtime and boosting productivity in packaging processes.
EASIER WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT
With its reduced thickness, the new Skin.Lite stretch film makes even warehouse management easier, so much that your storage area can be reduced by up to 70% compared to that required for thicker products.
Just in time deliveries
Many products in the Skin.Lite range are stock managed. This does not only mean you can buy just the amount you need without taking up space in your warehouse, but also that you won’t have to wait for production time, receiving the ordered product in just a few days.
Technical support and training
Plastotecnica’s customer-oriented philosophy is also expressed through the work of our technical staff. Our qualified product managers can provide tailored solutions based on the type of product to be packaged and the machinery used by the client company.
Our technical staff is always available for:
- packaging advice
- technical testing at the production site (with portable instruments) or in our laboratory
- training courses for technicians or sales agents
Less environmental impact
The reduced thickness of Skin.Lite products considerably promotes environmental protection. While always ensuring packaging integrity, a reduced film thickness means less use of the product itself, but also reduced transport space requirements and therefore fewer trucks on the roads, resulting in reduced fuel costs and pollutant emissions.
Benefits for your company, as well as for the environment around us.
Relying on constant research and development, the Skin.Lite project is constantly evolving. Our technicians continuously work to find new applications for low-thickness films, in order to make them suitable for an increasing number of packaging requirements and types of packaging. The first two milestones of this project are Stretch Film and Beverage.
